Course Description
Overview
This course will cover Finance and Accounting Basics relevant to entrepreneurs, business owners and corporate managers. You will learn how to use Financial Visibility to manage what matters: how to use financial tools to identify the outcomes you desire and set the milestones that will reflect your success. Participants learn how to implement Financial Visibility by identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure progress. This course culminates with the creation of a Performance Dashboard used to monitor success.
Learning Objectives
After completing this program, participants will be able to:
1) Read and understand their company’s financial statements. They will know where the numbers come from and what important information is included in each report.
2) Implement the essential “3-V” strategy for achieving the success they desire. They will understand the role that a clear, written Vision plays in establishing goals, how to increase sales and profits by focusing on the Vital 15% that truly drives their business, and the benefits derived from applying the principles of Financial Visibility.
3) Create a Performance Dashboard that encompasses the information that is essential to a true understanding of how their companies are doing.
4) Use their new knowledge of their companies’ finances to achieve their Vision, make more confident decisions, and to thrive as they navigate the challenges of an ever changing, global marketplace.

Course Description
Overview
This program is designed not only to educate you about the basics of entrepreneurship, but also to literally coach participants through the startup phase to the actual launch of their businesses. It provides Emerging Business Owners the ability to implement Financial Visibility in the early stage of your ventures, reducing the length of time to launch, accelerating their growth and saving time and money by focusing on what is vital to your success.
The course is broken down into four modules, each covering a critical component of a simple business plan: Crafting a viable vision, researching the competition, identifying your place in the market and prospective customers, putting together the details of your business model, developing your marketing plan, and putting all the numbers together to create the financial projections. There are weekly homework assignments that are an integral part of achieving the goal of launching a startup.
Learning Objectives
After completing this program, participants will be able to:
1) Create a viable Business Model that incorporates their ideas and passion
2) Craft a Simple Business Plan which will guide them through Year 1 of operations
3) Develop a deep knowledge of the Marketplace for their industry and the geographic area where the business will be located
4) Understand the importance of monitoring finances and become confident in their ability to update and revise financial projections based on actual performance of the business
5) Know how to set up the business entity and know what to buy or not buy to launch the startup
6) Implement a marketing plan complete with business cards, logo, brochure and web-based and traditional marketing activities
7) Internalize the concept that action translates into results and use the skills learned in this course to continue to make their low-cost startup profitable and fulfilling.
